Travelling to Poldark, but still confused about what to do and where to visit? Don’t worry, Travel England Tours are here to assist you well in that. We’ve listed the 4 most interesting and outstanding one in a lifetime experiences while you are on the Poldark tour-
ONE: Bodmin Moor can be traversed on horseback
Hallagenna Riding will take you on a horseback tour of the Bodmin Moor. If you're looking for Poldark tour sites in Cornwall, they've got you covered. They provided stabling and accommodation for the horses during filming on the moors.
Their specifically designed 2 - 4 hour Poldark tour will give you a glimpse into what happened behind the scenes. Nampara, Ross and Demelza's home, as well as various miner's huts, are some of the locales that were visited during the filming. There are alternatives for novices as well as expert cyclists. It's time to go!
TWO: Embark on a journey into the depths of Geevor Tin Mine
Located in West Cornwall, Geevor, one of the country's largest preserved mine sites, offers a fascinating look into the tough and deadly life of a Cornish miner.
Learn about abandoned mines, underground tours, and the Hard Rock Museum's hands-on exhibits while exploring abandoned buildings that have remained unchanged since the last miner departed. Choose a Poldark tour Day (Mondays during school vacations - check website for dates) to get the chance to put on costumes from the time of Poldark and try your hand at drilling with hand tools.
THREE: Tolgus Tin Mill – Cornwall Gold offers stream panning
There are only a handful of tin-streaming operations left in Cornwall, including the Tolgus Tin Mill in Redruth, which is a listed heritage site. It has been meticulously brought back to life using technologies that date back to 1865 and is once again manufacturing and processing in.
Tours of the tin-streaming process are available, and visitors will learn how ore from the park's streams is smelted on-site to create Cornish jewellery. Keep an eye out for a Tolgus silver, gold, and tin jewellery exhibit in the showroom before you depart. Ellie Tomlinson has a piece from the Demelza collection, so you're in excellent company!
FOUR: The Mineral Tramways Mining Trail is ideal for cycling
Exploring the region's mining history can be done on the Mineral Tramways multi-use paths. Many of the paths on the 37.5-mile network closely follow the tramway and railway routes originally used to move ore and crucial supplies to and from the tin and copper mines to ports such as Devoran and Portreath, and back. It's a terrific trail for all ages, and bike rentals are offered at several locations.
Bikers who are serious about their sport Cornish Cycle Tours has designed The Poldark Tour, a 177-mile circular route. On this eight-day trip, you'll visit a number of Poldark filming locations.
Hope you enjoyed reading and planning to explore the Poldark tour experiences on your own soon. If that’s the case for real then don’t forget Travel England Tours.
